December campaign Eric Bleumink Fund
The month December was dedicated to the Eric Bleumink Fund (EBF) of the Ubbo Emmius Fund. In the December issue of the alumni magazine Broerstraat 5 a payment slip was enclosed through which the EBF could be supported. This action resulted in a total of € 27,000 in donations. Through crowdfunding and the telephone fundraising campaign more than € 22,000 was raised. Moreover, the staff of the University and the UMCG can support the EBF by donating their Christmas gift. It is not known yet how much has been donated. Finally, there are 578 regular donors for the EBF.
EBF is the oldest Fund of the Ubbo Emmius Fund. For seventeen years, funds are being raised for scholarships of the EBF. With success: since its launch in 2000, sixty five young, ambitious and highly talented students from developing countries receive the EBF Talent Grant. Each year an average of four students can follow a master's program at the University of Groningen.
