When: | Th 31-10-2019 16:30 - 20:00 |
Where: | Bio Tech Campus Delft |
You are cordially invited by the alumni circle The Hague-Rotterdam to join this alumni meeting to celebrate DSM’s 150 years in Delft. The University of Groningen Professor of Chemical Engineering Erik Heeres and Henk Noorman who is honorary professor in Bioprocess Design at the TU Delft will discuss with you the role and progress of biotechnology in the development of green chemistry. Henk Noorman works also at DSM as Corporate Science Fellow for the competence area Engineering Sciences, driving strategic development and business alignment. Prof Heeres is involved in producing ‘green gold’ from organic waste. The latest success is a start-up company that he helped to launch, BioBTX.
Prof Heeres: ‘Before I came to the University of Groningen, I worked at Shell, the petroleum company. In all those years, I never got anything onto the market, but as a professor, I have done so several times.'
Before the meeting starts you have the opportunity to visit a free pop-up experience center where you can explore the crucial role microbes play in life on earth, our work over the last 150 years and what we are doing to tackle the biggest global challenges we face today.
