An alumni meeting in Brussels is a wonderful opportunity to meet fellow alumni, enjoy an evening at a beautiful location, and a great way to connect with the Northern Netherlands at large.

On Wednesday, 10 October, 20 alumni, who are living and working in Brussels met at the library De Solvay to meet old friends as well as connect with fellow alumni, hear news about the University of Groningen by our student assessor of the board of the University, Kathelijne de Vrijer, as well as hear recent developments in energy transition by prof. Dr. Jepma. Prof. dr. Jepma is also actively involved in the development of the new climate centre in Groningen.

In Brussels, the alumni committee, consisting of the president Jan Molema, Jori de Goffau and Dominik Flikweert welcomed fellow alumni. Jan Molema officially opened the alumni meeting and also thanked Welmoed Neijmeijer, for her efforts to connect UG alumni with each other and continue the bond with the University.

Following the meeting alumni joined the Top Dutch Festival, which was organized by the Province Drenthe. At the Festival, alumni met mayors, aldermen, experts on internationalisation and on energy, and many more. Next to an insightful programme, the evening was filled with a delicious dinner as well as various cultural shows.
