Rector Magnificus: ‘Your opinion matters’
The National Student Survey (NSE, Nationale Studenten Enquête) has recently started. You have received the invitation by mail (or retrieve your link via www.nse.nl) and our Rector Elmer Sterken likes to invite you to participate in the NSE:
The Board of the University is continually working to improve the quality of the education we offer. We consider it important for students to receive top-class teaching and for prospective students to make the right choice of degree programme. It is therefore important for us to have good, objective information about the degree programmes offered by the University of Groningen. Student assessments are thus a valuable source of information. After all, you are in the best position to assess your own degree programme.
By completing the NSE, you let us know what you think about the education and facilities offered by the University of Groningen. The more students who participate, the more accurate the results will be. If the response rate is too low, prospective students will not know what current students think about their degree programme.
Studiekeuze123 has been commissioned by the Ministry of Education, Culture and Science to organize the NSE, in collaboration with other participating education institutions. The survey therefore has wide support from relevant stakeholders, which in turn makes it a good, applicable instrument.
The information generated by the NSE forms the basis for concrete plans. For example, results from previous years regarding the transition from studying to the world of work led to the founding of Career Services. Additionally, we are now busy with embedding employability into the curriculum better. We will continue to work on improving timetables, examinations and assessment, information provision and study facilities. We want to improve the education we offer, but we can't do it without you - your opinion matters. So please complete the NSE and let us know what you think of your University.
