To mark the 4th centenary of Groningen University, established in 1614, the Royal Netherlands Institute in Rome hosts a celebration focused on a topic that is central in the research agenda of Groningen University, the Dutch government and the European Union: sustainability. In a series of short presentations, the event intends to reflect particularly on the way our cultural heritage contributes to give stability to societies, in the past, in the present and in what future we can imagine. These insights and reflections then will be further explored in a forum of distinguished specialists in the field of sustainability and policy making.
