Northern Knowledge is an initiative of the University of Groningen, the University Medical Center Groningen and Hanze University of Applied Sciences. Northern Knowledge strives to optimally use knowledge in order to stimulate innovation and contribute to a strong northern region.
It has two main goals: demonstrating where and how the knowledge of the affiliated organizations is of added value to the Northern Netherlands, and of added value to society in a broader sense. Northern Knowledge also functions as a network in which parties based in academia, society, education and the economy can find each other and exchange knowledge.
When knowledge is shared in a multidisciplinary environment, innovation happens. Northern Knowledge strives to bring knowledge to those places that are in need of it. Knowledge is a building block for innovation and Northern Knowledge connects existing initiatives and networks. In this way, Northern Knowledge offers a platform where knowledge can be exchanged in good faith, for a strong northern region.
