Chaotic environment leads to pursuit of clear goals
People have a natural aversion to chaos and have developed various strategies to deal with it. This also applies to everyday chaos. In a chaotic daily environment, people are more inclined to accept any clear goal offered to them and to achieve it, even if that goal contributes nothing to resolving the chaos. This has been revealed by a recent publication by Professor Bob Fennis and Jacob Wiebenga in The Journal of Environmental Psychology .
