How accurate is our perception?

What determines our perception? And what do people really see? These questions are being addressed by experimental psychologist Jacob Jolij. He has discovered things like drinking coffee can change your perception. One of Jolij’s students will soon begin studying whether digital detection methods and lie detector methods currently used by the police can be combined to create an improved lie detector test.
