Dialogue tables to start!
As a follow-up to the working conference on social safety, we have started dialogue tables. These are small-scale discussion rounds in which students and staff explore with each other what is needed to structurally embed social safety within the UG. After the major working conference on 27 May 2024, follow-up talks were held with staff on Monday 21 October 2024 and 13 January 2025.
Various perspectives
A key aim of these sessions is to provide space for diverse perspectives and voices. In the first series of dialogue tables, specific focus groups were set up for:
-
employees of colour;
-
members of the LGBTQIA+ community;
-
international female staff.
Exploring barriers
During these conversations - guided by a moderator and a co-facilitator from the group in question - we explore what bottlenecks exist and what is needed to achieve a safer and inclusive working environment. More of these talks will be organised in the coming years, also focusing on other groups and identities.
