Story tell & Talk

When:Tu 09-06-2026 15:00 - 17:00Where:Heymans, Grote Kruisstraat 2/1, Groningen. Oranjerie in Gadourek Building

Do you experience generational diversity in your workplace or study environment? How does it affect you? On Tuesday 9 June, the UG Social Safety Programme is organising a dialogue session on this topic. Everyone is welcome to join. During the session, participants will discuss assumptions we have about generational diversity and how we can challenge or learn from them. The session will take place in the Orangerie of the Heymans Building and will run from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m. You can register via the registration form until Tuesday 2 June.

The dialogue session will provide greater insight into the perspectives and experiences of other generations. This fosters greater respect and understanding, enabling you to work together rather than opposing one another. Taking part in the dialogue session on Thursday 9 June will also offer you a unique opportunity to practise the UNESCO Story Circles method. This method involves sharing stories in small groups based on specific questions. Particular attention is paid to the ‘Four Levels of Listening’. The session will be facilitated by colleagues that are trained in Art of Hosting for Conversations that Matter.

Can't make it to this session? Check our calendar for upcoming events.

Why Social Safety Dialogues?
As part of the university’s commitment to social safety, we’re inviting students and staff to join a series of monthly dialogues. Spaces where we slow down, reflect, and talk honestly about what it means to feel safe, respected, and part of a community. We believe that one of the most powerful tools we have is dialogue. Real, human, open-hearted dialogue.

After signing up, you’ll receive a confirmation—we’re looking forward to welcoming you. If the session is full, we’ll keep a waiting list and do our best to make space.
