National funding programme for Virtual International Cooperation Projects

In February 2023, the Dutch Ministry of Education, Culture and Science (OCW) will open a new round of applications for Virtual International Collaboration (VIS) projects. This VIS-initiative provides a funding scheme from 2021 to 2024 which allows lecturers and study programmes to obtain funding to set up Virtual International Cooperation projects. The subsidy amounts to 15,000 euros per project and is intended to free up teachers or educationalists for:

● Collaborative development or revision of the virtual international cooperation project;

● Necessary coordination with a higher education institution abroad;

● And coordination of the project.

In the period from 1 to 28 February 2023, project proposals for the second round can be submitted to the Ministry. Further information about this scheme is available on the OCW website (in Dutch).

Application procedure University of Groningen

In the University of Groningen, project applications for this scheme are coordinated by the Teaching Academy Groningen, in collaboration with Educational Support and Innovation. This team will help you to draft your submission and will provide you with the administrative details to make your submission. Applications must be formally approved by the University Board before submission. If you are interested in making a submission, please let us know by completing the University of Groningen intake form before January 16th at the latest. We will then contact you about completing your application and submitting it in time for the February 2023 round.
