UG commemorates Second World War casualties

On 4 May, the UG commemorated all the students, staff members, and others who lost their lives during the Second World War. Members of the Board of the University, staff members and representatives of student organizations held a moment of silence and laid flowers.

The flowers were laid at the monuments for (former) UG students and staff members who lost their lives, on the left and right side above the stairs in the foyer of the Academy Building.
The UG also joined the annual municipal remembrance ceremony organized by Stichting 4 Mei Herdenking and participated in a walking procession, which began at the Jewish monument on Hereweg and ended at the St. George and the Dragon monument in the Martinikerk grounds, where a wreath was then laid.
