Opening Academic Year: sign up now

The Opening Academic Year 2025 - 2026 will take place on Monday 1 September 2025 from 3.30 - 5 pm. in the Martinichurch. The theme of this year's ceremony is 'Impact Without Borders: Local Meets Global'. The programme includes a keynote speach by Prof Robbert Dijkgraaf, speeches by rector magnificus Jacquelien Scherpen and chairman of the Board of the University Jouke de Vries, and the presentation of the Ubbo Emmius Medal.

The Opening of the Academic Year is intended for the UG community: staff, professors, relations and students. We would like to invite you to join us for this celebratory event. The deadline for signing up is 27 August, 5 pm.
