Student Well-being Action Plan: renewed portal now live
Last year, the Student Well-being Action Plan was approved by the Board of the University and the University Council. Through this plan, the University aims to enhance student wellbeing in the coming years. As part of this Action Plan, the Student well-being portal was launched last week with a completely new look!

Close collaboration with students
Over the past year, a lot of hard work has gone into restructuring and improving the design of this portal. One of the main points of the Student Well-being Action Plan is to make information and support more accessible and easier for students to find. We worked closely together with students to make these changes. They were involved every step of the way, from deciding how to best reach them and through which channels, to identifying the types of texts and images that appeal to them most. The portal is designed to closely reflect students’ needs.
Student well-being
The portal covers information about student well-being in the broadest sense, from stress to loneliness, substance use, personal development, and support in specific situations. Would you like to find out more about the support offered both within and outside the University of Groningen, or refer your students to the portal?
Communication via faculties and services units
The accompanying student well-being campaign will also start this week. Faculties and service units will be provided with a monthly communication toolkit, which they can use to reach students through their own channels and inform them about everything related to student well-being. The student well-being programme team will provide the toolkits.
Want to know more?
The student well-being programme team consists of Aletta Westra-Hofstee, Programme Leader, Estelle Meima, Policy Officer, and Karin van Ommeren, Communications Officer. In addition to improving communication and accessibility, they focus on other projects within the Action Plan, such as further professionalizing study advisors, mentors, and lecturers, as well as investigating how personal and professional development can be strengthened and incorporated into degree programmes.

If you have any questions or input for the programme team, please send an email to studentwellbeing@rug.nl.
