New way of displaying UG research output

As from 19 February, the UG has been presenting its research output in a different way. The former UG research database has been replaced by a research portal.

In a nutshell
The new research portal allows you to display your scientific output more clearly and attractively. The portal offers a number of new features:

  • display of research metrics and research networks;
  • a research profile that you can partly customize;
  • the easy sharing of research output via social media.

Want to know more? Read all about the new portal on Pure support.

What will change for you?
Everyone with research output in Pure now has a research profile on the research portal that is filled with data from Pure. Do you have research output in Pure, but no research profile on the new portal? Change your visibility settings.

Your profile page on rug.nl will also remain. Information under the heading ‘research’ will now display key research and publication information with links to the full information on the new research portal. Initially, this will include research interests, (highlighted) publications and (highlighted) press media. This will be expanded in later releases.

What stays the same?
You will continue to edit or add to your research output via Pure. Nothing will change in this regard.

Important to know
Your research profile on the research portal will not have a profile picture, unless you have put it in Pure. At the end of March, we will import your UG profile picture (the photo on your profile page on rug.nl) into Pure, so that it will also be visible on the new research portal. If you have any objections to this, please fill in this form. Do you want a profile picture on the portal immediately? Upload a photo in Pure.

If you have any questions, please contact us at pure rug.nl / pure umcg.nl
