Energy Research and Education joining forces

The Energy Academy Europe (EAE) and Energy research Centre of the Netherlands (ECN) are set to cooperate in the field of energy education and research. The signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with a maturity of five years, gives both parties needed support in their work in bringing about the necessary transition to reliable, sustainable and affordable energy solutions for the future. Some important activities that are outlined in the MoU include close cooperation and strategic partnership, joint research and plans for the effective exchange of knowledge.

EAE

The EAE is an international center of excellence for energy education, research and innovation, and it aims to contribute to the transition to reliable, sustainable and affordable sources of energy. It is a partnership between the University of Groningen, the Hanze University of Applied Sciences, the municipality of Groningen, the province of Groningen and Energy Valley. The EAE is open to all people, organizations and businesses that want to play a part in bringing about a more sustainable energy future. ECN

ECN is the largest research institute in the Netherlands for energy. It has a strong international position in the field of solar energy, wind energy, policy and strategic studies, biomass, energy efficiency and environmental research. Here, knowledge and technology are developed for and with the market, making the permanent transition to a sustainable energy system possible. ECN focuses on sustainable energy: safe, efficient, reliable and environmentally friendly. The institute also performs research into future opportunities and economic backgrounds in energy. ECN has offices in Amsterdam, Eindhoven, Petten, Wieringermeer, Brussels and China. More information is available on the ECN website www.ecn.nl.
