Project title: COPD: The relation between family history of COPD, genetic variation and lifestyle (research within the LifeLines cohort).

The objective of the study is to investigate the relations between family history of COPD, respiratory morbidity, genetic variation and lifestyle/environmental exposures in 4 selected groups of 150 participants of the LifeLines cohort study (a population based cohort of 165,000 participants which will be followed for 30 years).

We are looking for a MSc in epidemiology, human life sciences, biotechnology, (medical) biology, health sciences or comparable. The candidate should have affinity with statistical analysis and genetics. At the start of the project the candidate should be younger than 26 years of age.

A dditional information: This 4 year PhD project should result in a PhD-thesis at Groningen University. Net monthly scholarship amount €1594. Start ASAP.
