Human Movement Sciences

Human movement scientists are driven to observe, measure, understand and improve movement. The Bachelor's programme in Human Movement Sciences is a broad, three‑year Dutch‑taught degree that includes medical, psychological, and mathematical courses. The Human Movement Sciences Bachelor's programme in Groningen ranks as the best study programme in its category in national study and student surveys (NSE, Keuzegids, Elsevier).

We are excited to announce that we are developing a new one‑year, Dutch‑taught Master’s programme called Sport- en Bewegingswetenschappen, scheduled to launch in September 2027. This programme is designed for students who are passionate about human movement, performance, and health—and who want to make real impact in the field.

Are you looking for an even deeper scientific challenge? The English‑taught two-year research master Interdisciplinary Research in Health Dynamics offers a dynamic, research‑driven learning environment where you can work closely with leading scholars and contribute to innovative projects that shape the future of health and movement sciences.

Students who are interested in the scientific side of sports can opt for a Minor in Sport Science
