UCG ranks Top Rated Programme

16 November 2017

We are proud to announce that our Liberal Arts and Sciences programme has been awarded the "Top Rated Programme" quality label by the Keuzegids Universiteiten, for the second year in a row! UCG is exceptionally proud of this achievement, with an overall score of 8.8 out of 10. Only those institutions and programmes that are seen as the best in their field receive this special title, and it stipulates the high quality level of education. As the Keuzegids is an independent guide that compares the quality of all programmes in the Netherlands, this is a title that University College Groningen values greatly. UCG views this result as a compliment to its dedicated staff and their ongoing efforts to improve the faculty and the programme, and is honoured to receive this rating from its own student community. Needless to say, this achievement only sparks the motivation of UCG to continue improving the programme and the College where ever possible.

Ten University of Groningen Bachelor’ s degree programmes, among which the Liberal Arts and Sciences programme, have been awarded the ‘Top Rated Programme’ quality label in this year’s Keuzegids Universiteiten (Guide to Dutch Universities). Just like last year, the University of Groningen appears in first place in the category ‘Broad-Based General University 2018’ in the list of Best Dutch Universities.

The assessment of the University of Groningen in the Keuzegids included the following statement: ‘In recent years the UG has been receiving better assessments on average than the universities in the west of the country.’ And: ‘The trick with a broad university is to ensure that both the larger and the smaller degree programmes are high quality: short lines of communication wherever possible, sufficient structure where necessary. Groningen and Nijmegen seem to do this best.’
