Groningen participates in Earth Hour

25 March 2017

Today, Saturday the 25th of March, at 20:30 (CET), the Netherlands will participate in the worldwide event Earth Hour. This is an initiative from the WWF to raise awareness about the need for climate action by switching off the lights for one hour. Next to well known monuments like the Eiffel Tower, Groningen will also partake in the event by switching off lights of their famous attractions. The lights will be turned off at the Academy Building of the university, the Martini Church, city hall and eight large corporations. The corporations encourage citizens from Groniningen to participate. This is the twelfth time Earth Hour is organized, use your power to turn off your power!
