Research and Methodology

Your first year provides you with basic skills in planning and conducting (interdisciplinary) research, as a part of our Research and Methodology learning line. All students  take the courses ‘Academic Skills’ (5 EC) and ‘Introduction to Academic Research’ (5 EC) and then select a discipline-specific research methods course of their choice.

The freedom within our Liberal Arts and Sciences programme offered is coupled with a deep commitment to the development of academic skills. As a consequence, all students follow courses designed to complement their chosen major. These courses provide robust training in a wide variety of skills and methods: from programming, to qualitative research, to literary hermeneutics. As a consequence, our students graduate in possession of an extremely powerful set of abilities and aptitudes, providing an excellent bedrock for entering the workforce or pursuing further study.
