Exploring Challenges of Modern Society

In Challenges of Modern Society 1, students first learn about a global societal challenges, such as Climate Change, through the perspectives of different disciplines including Economics, Health and Life Sciences, Natural Sciences, Psychology and Arts and Humanities.

In the following block, in Challenges of Modern Society 2, students begin to experience working in multidisciplinary teams. UCG staff from the Sciences, Social Sciences and Humanities collaborate to guide students in exploring a real-world, societal problem. They compile and integrate insights, theories, approaches and solutions from different disciplines. Using a case, in this block, students begin to acquire skills that facilitate building and working in teams, understand intercultural aspects and values in collaboration, and gain insights into project development and management.
