Expertise

social and demographic history, history of health and medicine, comparative history, and oral history. In particular, the history of gender, sexuality, and reproduction; the history of population decline and depopulation; the history of social welfare, care, and public policies; the history of lived experiences, collective action, and social institutions; 20th and 21st centuries. Eastern Europe (Ukraine), Western Europe (Netherlands, Britain). I currently lead an ERC StG project DEPOP: ERC Starting Grant 'Coping with decline: Comparative social-historical analysis of depopulation and community welfare in Europe, 1950-2022' (DEPOP)  http://www.rug.nl/let/depop
