dr. mr. P.G. (Vincent) Tassenaar

Vincent Tassenaar (Nijmegen, April 26th 1967) graduated in Private law, Economic and social history, Eastern European history, Eastern European studies. In 2000 he finished his Phd in Economic history with his dissertation Het verloren Arcadia. De biologische levensstandaard in Drenthe, 1815-1860, which dealt with the biological standard of living in a modernizing economy.
Since 1998 he is senior lecturer, before lecturer, at the University of Groningen in the Faculty of law and the Faculty of arts.
Vincent Tassenaar made contributions to several international journals and volumes. In a legal and historical perspective he opts for a positive (frequently quantitative) interdisciplinary approach.
The central theme of his research is inequality. His main topics are general legal principles and human rights in private and public law and the (biological) standard of living.
