Expertise

I see myself in the Humboldtian tradition combining inter- and transdisciplinary research, teaching, and societal impact. My academic work and passion are dedicated to the overarching theme ‘Human Dignity in the Digital Age’.

My research focus is the study of transformation processes from abstract principles – e.g. human rights, ethical, or policy principles – towards specific regulatory and governance frameworks relating to data and technology.

Examples include ethical and standardisation principles transforming into the EU AI Act, developing policy guidelines to achieve data autonomy/digital sovereignty, studying how the human right to privacy translates into EU GDPR, designing surveillance and predictive policing toolkits, and digital identity frameworks.
