K.T. Roithmaier, LLM

Kilian Roithmaier is a PhD Candidate in the Transboundary Legal Studies department. The working title of his research project is 'Ensuring Respect for International Humanitarian Law in Proxy Wars: Towards a Complementary Legal Framework for the Regulation of State Support to Non-State Armed Groups'.
Before joining the University of Groningen, Kilian worked as a Junior Researcher at the T.M.C. Asser Institute, where he conducted fundamental as well as policy-oriented research on armed conflicts, international humanitarian law, and (counter)terrorism. Kilian was the Editorial Assistant to the Yearbook of International Humanitarian Law (Volumes 21 and 22).
Kilian obtained an LL.M. in public international law from the University of Amsterdam with distinction in 2018. Before that, he studied law with a specialization in European and public international law at the Ludwig-Maximilians-University Munich and passed the First Law Examination ('Erstes Juristisches Staatsexamen') in 2017.
