Dr Jabulani Shaba is a Political Ecology postdoctoral researcher in the European Research Council (ERC) AFREXTRACT at the University of Groningen in the Netherlands. He holds a doctorate from Stellenbosch University, South Africa. His PhD focused on gendered labor relations in informal gold mining in Zimbabwe over nine decades. He has taught interdisciplinary courses on sustainability, international development, and environmental change, as well as African and global history. Dr. Shaba is commencing a research project on the Just Energy Transition in Zimbabwe.
