Erdogan Aykaç is a researcher and lecturer at the department of International Relations and International Organization of the University of Groningen.
As a PhD candidate he conducts research on Turkey's role as a bridge between the European Union and the Middle East by focusing on the usage of this 'bridge metaphor' in discursive practices of Turkish political elites. Erdogan has a Master degree in Political Science with a specialization in International Relations and a Bachelor degree in History with a specialization in Teaching from the University of Amsterdam, Windesheim University of Applied Sciences, and the University of Wisconsin in Platteville, USA.
His research interests include Turkish foreign policy towards the European Union and the Middle East, discursive practices of Turkish political elites, and the Kurdish issue.
