prof. dr. ir. D.J. Langley
Dr. David J. Langley received his PhD in Marketing at the Faculty of Economics and Business at the University of Groningen in 2009. Working at TNO, the largest applied research institute in the Netherlands, he is senior scientist at the department of Business Strategy. Since 2014 he is also Associate Research Fellow at the department of Innovation Management and Strategy at the University of Groningen.
Working in the area of internet innovations, since 1991, he has set up and led research projects in a wide variety of industries, including telecoms, energy, banking and the public sector. His research findings and advice has been implemented by many organizations, including Achmea, Ahold, Avro, Eneco, KPN, Philips, Rabobank, Randstad, Unilever, UPC, Vodafone, and the Dutch government. He is the inventor of a method to predict the adoption of innovative products and services at an early stage of their development, for which he has won two awards. His scientific research has been published in leading journals, including Technological Forecasting and Social Change, Journal of Product Innovation Management and Journal of Interactive Marketing.
