Expertise

I am a Senior Learning & Development Specialist at the University of Groningen, where I design, coordinate and facilitate professional and leadership development for academic and professional staff.

I am responsible for the Qualification PhD Supervision Excellence, a university-wide development programme for academic staff. As part of this programme, I co-created the MOOC Successful PhD Supervision: A Shared Journey , and facilitate workshops on effective supervision, feedback, coaching approaches and intercultural aspects of academic work.

I coordinate the University’s Academic Leadership programmes, supporting academic leaders at different stages of their careers through Academic Leadership I for Assistant Professors and Academic Leadership II for Associate and Full Professors. I also contribute to the Leadership Essentials Programme, a development programme for academic and non-academic leaders.

Across my work, I am increasingly interested in social safety, dialogue and participation: how leaders and teams can create environments in which people feel able to speak up, listen to different perspectives, engage constructively with disagreement and contribute meaningfully.
