Research interests

I am interested in the environment of galaxies and in particular in the role of the circumgalactic medium (CGM) on galaxy formation and evolution. The aim of my PhD is to improve our understanding on the origin and dynamics of this gas. In the first three years of my project I have developed semi-analytical models in order to interpret recent observations of the CGM around low-redshift galaxies, while in the last year I will use high-resolution hydrodynamical simulations to better probe the interactions between the different gas phases composing this medium.
