Podium34 & The Bake Shop

That the local music sector is under pressure is an understatement. Small music venues, pop temples, and talent development programs are struggling under the current political climate. That’s why it’s important for these organizations to position themselves as strongly as possible within the field. They can do this by strategically approaching their marketing and communication in order to make themselves—and their societal value—visible to the wider public. But it can also be achieved through forming new collaborations with local governments and by applying to the right funding sources. However, few of these organizations actually get around to doing so.

Limited resources and small staff (in FTEs) mean that the daily grind consumes most of their time. This is precisely why The Bake Shop and Podium34 reached out to the Science Shop. Together with students from the Management & Entrepreneurship course, they researched how The Bake Shop and Podium34 can best position and/or organize themselves with limited resources.
