IPCC Report with input from the UG
On Monday 4 April, the 2022 IPCC Report will be presented. The IPCC (Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change) is the climate panel of the United Nations. The Report provides new, alarming data and trends and will spark the debate on how to limit climate change. A total of 270 researchers from 67 different countries, including staff members of the UG, collaborated on the Report.

Linda Steg, Professor of Environmental Psychology at the Faculty of Behavioural and Social Sciences of the University of Groningen, is one of the Lead Authors. Steg is involved in a special chapter of the Report about the social aspects of the climate problems. The IPCC Report also discusses the consumption-based emissions of greenhouse gases. One of the Lead Authors of this section is Klaus Hubacek, Professor of Science, Technology, and Society at the Faculty of Science and Engineering in Groningen. Hubacek, who is also affiliated with the University of Maryland, USA, collaborated with UG environmental scientist Yuli Shan.
