08 October 2019
5G Masterclass
5G Masterclass

(This is a Dutch spoken event)

On Tuesday 15 October, Taco Kluwer of the Dutch Radiocommunications Agency will give a Masterclass on frequencies. This time the 5G Masterclass will take place in a beautiful location in the city centre of Groningen: Het Kasteel. Admission is free.

The frequency spectrum

Frequencies serve as an important ‘raw material’ for 5G. Without these frequencies we would not be able to drive in a connected car, stream 360-degree videos or connect millions of IoT devices. Yet, what are frequencies actually and how are they used for 5G? What are the differences in the frequencies between 4G and 5G? And why is one frequency being auctioned off while the other is ‘free’ for anyone to use, e.g. for WiFi? Are you interested in the answers to these questions and more? Then sign up now for this Masterclass on 5G and the frequency spectrum!

Time and place

The 5G Masterclass will start at 4 p.m. and end at 6 p.m.
Admission from 3.30 p.m.
Location: Het Kasteel, Melkweg 1, 9718 EP Groningen.

Parking is available at the Westerhaven car park which is a 2-minute walk from Het Kasteel. Parking in the neighbourhood is available for a maximum of 2 hours. For more information on route and parking, please visit the website of Het Kasteel .

The sessions last two hours and are introduced by experts working at the movers and shakers of the telecommunications world, such as KPN, Vodafone, Ericsson, Huawei and TNO. Afterwards there will be room for questions and in-depth discussion. Entrance to this unique event is free! All you need to do is sign up. The 5G Masterclasses are organized at different locations.
