George Froudakis: Designing novel Nanoporous Materials for applications in Energy, Environment and Health

When:Th 15-12-2016 13:00 - 14:00
Where:5118.-149

A combination of ab-initio, Monte Carlo and Molecular Dynamics techniques is used for designing novel nanoporous materials for various applications.

Hydrogen, methane and CO 2 storage, natural gas processing, drug deliveryand flexible electronic are some of the tasks that will be addressed and theirconnection to nanoporous materials will be analyzed.

Different type of strategically designed novel nanoporous materials like: Nanotubeand molecular Pillared Graphene, Porous NanotubeNetworks, Super Diamond,Metal and CovalentOrganic Frameworks, will bepresented and their structural and electronic properties will be discussed.

Finally, the improvement of vital structural and electronic properties of those materials will be achieved by molecular engineering.
