Saeedeh Farokhipoor, who did her PhD in the group of Prof. Beatriz Noheda was awarded the prestigious NWO-Veni grant. Veni is targeted at outstanding researchers who have recently obtained their PhD. They are at the start of their scientific career and display a striking talent for scientific research. Researchers who have completed their PhD within the last three years can apply for a Veni grant.
After graduating form her PhD, Farokhipoor received a NWO Rubicon fellowship, which allowed her to spend two years at the University of Cambridge in the Department of Materials Science & Metallurgy where she worked at the project "Rapid transport of magnetic information in carbon".

Ever-smaller electronic components cannot be manufactured using current technology. Scientists will explore the self-assembly of miniature capacitors in novel materials, for information storage. Reduction of both size and power consumption enables advances in electronics to continue well into the future.
