Neuromorphic computing research featured in NRC
31 December 2025
Recent research on neuromorphic computing inspired by the fruit fly brain has been featured in the Dutch national newspaper NRC. The article highlights how a neuromorphic computer, based on neural principles found in insects, can reliably recognize odors and even identify a biowaste bin using an artificial sense of smell.
The work demonstrates how simple biological neural circuits can inspire highly efficient, low-power computing systems, offering promising applications in sensing and intelligent machines.
