IN THE CURRENT SITUATION HEALTH IS NUMBER ONE PRIORITY. WE ARE SORRY THAT THE EVENT CANNOT BE HELD AS INITIALLY PLANNED AND HOPE FOR YOUR UNDERSTANDING. THE CANCELLATION NOW DOES NOT MEAN WE WILL NOT CELEBRATE AT A LATER STAGE. AS SOON AS THE CORONA SITUATION ALLOWS FOR RELIABLE PREDICTIONS, WE WILL START SEEKING FOR AN ALTERNATIVE DATE. STAY SAFE!
In April 1970, 37 scientists from Groningen came together on the beautiful island of Vlieland for the first Materials Science meeting. It was the beginning of structural interdisciplinary collaboration and the founding moment of the Materials Science Center Groningen.
We want to celebrate the 50th anniversary of this moment CANCELLED [on April 3, 2020 in Groningen (Zernike Campus, Energy Academy Building)] CANCELLED. In a festive day we want to bring together the past and the present members of the institute, look back to the past, look forward to the future and have fun together.
We would also like to ask you to inform your current and past group members about this event and/or if you prefer that we contact them directly send us a list of e-mail addresses.
In addition, we would appreciate if you could help us reaching out to former group members and group leaders of your chair/group. We know that many of you have active alumni lists and would appreciate your help in this. If possible please also ask your alumni to sign up to this e-mail list http://bit.ly/Alumni_Zernike_Institute . With this we will be able to reach them in the future.
