Young Academy members meet with the President of the NWO/Dutch Research Organization Stan Gielen

On Friday September 1st members of the Young Academy Groningen Policy working group met with the President of the NWO/Dutch Research Organization Executive Board Stan Gielen. During the two hour lunch meeting, Prof. Gielen and YAG members discussed the future of NWO funding for early career researchers, particularly the Veni and Vidi grants, how young researchers can get more involved in Gravitational Grant proposals, and if and how the NWO plans to incorporate the major societal challenges as laid out in the National Research Agenda into their funding criteria.

The Young Academy hopes to follow up on this meeting by hosting a Roundtable event for the University Community on the topic of Funding opportunities for Early Career Researchers in early 2018.
