Geometric properties of higher-dimensional Kerr--NUT--(A)dS and related metrics
In this talk, I will focus on a few interesting properties of higher-dimensional rotating black-hole spacetimes described by the Kerr–NUT–(A)dS metric. First, I will present higher-dimensional generalizations of Carter's original derivation of the Kerr– NUT–(A)dS metric from an ansatz that admits the separability of the Klein-Gordon equation. Next, I will discuss limits of the Kerr–NUT–(A)dS metrics where particular roots of the metric functions degenerate leading to spacetimes with larger symmetry groups, for example, the higher-dimensional Taub–NUT–(A)dS or the extreme near-horizon geometries. Finally, motivated by similarities between the NUT-charged spacetimes and the spinning cosmic string spacetime, I will introduce the geometric quantities characterizing the singularities on the symmetry axes.
