"The a-theorem in Gauge Field Theories"

Abstract:

A review on the subject of the irreversibility of the renormalization
group flow of non-abelian gauge theories is presented.
The c-theorem and the more recent a-theorem are discussed.
Constraints to the RG-Flow of SQCD with the use of the a-theorem are possible.
The possibility of establishing similar constraints in
the large-N Veneziano limit of QCD is discussed.
