Title:

Single-superfield realization of large-field inflation in supergravity

Abstract:

Large-field inflation is interesting both phenomenologically and theoretically: detection of tensor perturbation implies large field dynamics, and the inflaton potential in such a case is sensitive to quantum corrections from Planck scale physics. In this talk, I will explain difficulties in realizing large-field inflation in supergravity and solutions to them, particularly focusing on a recently proposed solution which does not introduce additional degrees of freedom. In this case, inflation generically ends with a SUSY breaking vacuum, but it is also possible to obtain almost arbitrary potentials with a SUSY preserving vacuum.
