About us Faculty of Science and Engineering Research GRIP Nanomedicine and Drug Targeting

The division of Nanomedicine & Drug Targeting organizes multiple teaching projects/courses in the curriculum of the bachelor programs Pharmaceutical Sciences, and Pharmacy as well as in the master programs Pharmacy, Medical Pharmaceutical Sciences, and in the topmaster Medical Pharmaceutical Drug Innovation in the Faculty of Natural Sciences. In addition, group members participate in courses in the Faculty of Medical Sciences as well as in the interfaculty curriculum "Life Sciences and Technology".

The teaching program of the department deals with all aspects of drug transport and metabolism: absorption, distribution and excretion mechanisms, pharmacokinetic analysis, drug delivery and drug targeting technology, immunopharmacology/pharmacokinetics, gene and antisense delivery, pharmacokinetic modeling and software development, drug monitoring in relation to pharmacotherapy and drug interactions, pharmacokinetic/pharmacodynamic relationships, biological toxicology, as well as pharmacology and pharmacokinetics of anti-tumor agents and drug therapy in general. Students can perform their bachelor project (15EC) and their master project (30-40 EC) in the division FTT. The research training can partly take place in laboratories abroad (for example USA , Japan , UK , Switzerland , Germany ).

The division also participates in several PHD training courses of the Groningen University Institute for Drug Exploration (GUIDE).
