Open Science NL funding for Groningen projects to advance open science

Five Groningen projects have been awarded funding by Open Science NL to advance open science. In total, Open Science NL has funded 45 projects across the Netherlands, aimed at strengthening the national open science infrastructure.

University of Groningen Press is involved in two of these projects. The first focuses on implementing a joint metadata management system to enable shared outputs and services, in partnership with Open Access Book infrastructure services. The second project aims to establish a high-quality and flexible national diamond open access publishing infrastructure. > Read more

A national consortium bringing together all Dutch University Medical Centers through the Data in the Region coalition has received a €1.4 million grant. The project, Unified Governance for Availability, Access, and Use of Socio-Medical Data, is coordinated by Raun van Ooijen (Department of Health Sciences, UMCG) as part of the UMCNL Data in the Region coalition. > Read more

27 applicants have been awarded funding to replicate earlier studies. These projects will reanalyse original data, repeat experiments, and replicate studies with slight variations to the original design. Two of these projects are based in Groningen: Robert Lensink, Encouraging Fertilizer Use: A Replication Study with Cashew Farmers in Ghana & Milena Nikolova, Happiness and Income. > Read more
