Symposium 17 November: Celebrating openness - The role of open science in education and teaching

Making science more transparent, giving everyone access to research results, implementing open education, and stimulating more interaction between the academic world and society: the University of Groningen is committed to actively stimulating and facilitating these open science principles among its academic community.

Theme 2022: ‘The role of open science in education and teaching’

The symposium ‘Celebrating Openness’ on 17 November highlights the many ways in which academics make their research and teaching more accessible and transparent. This year’s event focusses on ‘The role of open science in education and teaching’.

Join us for:

  • a keynote by Dr Matt Coler (Campus Fryslân)
  • lightning talks by the three winners of the Open Research Award
  • a panel discussion featuring
    • Dr Benjamin Bewersdorf (University College Groningen; Teaching Academy Groningen)
    • Jeroen Bosman (Information specialist Open Science, Utrecht University)
    • Kjelda Glimmerveen (MA student, former student assessor Theology and Religious Studies)
    • Dr Jolien Mouw (Faculty of Behavioural and Social Sciences; Young Academy Groningen)

This is a hybrid event; a livestream will be available. You don't have to register for the event if you join online only.
