Academic Collaborative Centre C4Youth

Academic Collaborative Centre C4Youth 1.0 (2011-2015) and C4Youth 2.0 (2015-2019) (SYY)

C4Youth is a collaboration between the Department of Health Sciences of the University of Groningen, SYY and stakeholders from the field of child care and child welfare, including representatives of local municipalities, child welfare organizations, and the Hanze University of Applied Sciences. In C4Youth 1.0 (2010-2014) longitudinal data were gathered on the use of care and trajectories in care of children and families between 0 and 18 years old in the northern provinces of the Netherlands. Three PhD dissertations have been based on this data set and a fourth one is being prepared. In C4Youth 2.0 (2015-2019) we support and inform the transition of the Dutch child welfare system which started in 2015 and is still in progress and under evaluation. Core elements of C4Youth 2.0 are: innovation, sharing knowledge, monitoring, participation of clients and dealing with diversity.

The team of C4Youth 2.0 was involved in the first evaluation of new Dutch Youth Act, see https://www.rijksoverheid.nl/documenten/rapporten/2018/01/30/rapport-eerste-evaluatie-jeugdwet
