Dutch chapter on learning problems and learning disabilities

01 September 2026

Alexander Minnaert recently contributed to a chapter on learning problems and learning disorders to the Dutch Handboek klinische ontwikkelingspsychologie [Handbook for clinical developmental psychology].

In this chapter the authors discuss dyslexia and dyscalculia, the combination of both, possible comorbilities and the consequences for carrying out complexer tasks, such as reading comprehension and problem-solving mathematics. In this contribution, a overview of the current scientific knowledge is provided, accompanied by practical guidelines for diagnosis and treatment.
