Photo Collection
GIA has started to make its photo archive available digitally, with a pilot of some 550 photos from the famous 1923-1934 excavations at Ezinge (province of Groningen, the Netherlands). This will allow a wider use of the photo collection and underlines the societal relevance of the GIA collections. The Ezinge excavations were a landmark project that established the fame of both terp-mound archaeology and its excavator, dr. A.E. van Giffen. A Dutch-language book on the Ezinge excavations may be found here.
