Heidegger confronted with the Greeks

Heidegger’s way of thinking is semantic but in a philosophical way, is PhD student Suyver’s hypothesis. His thesis, however, is not an explanation of Heidegger’s thoughts on truth, but a confrontation of his thinking with the pre-metaphysical ideas of Plato and Carnap’s cybernetics on ‘fitness’. By confronting Heidegger’s ideas with Plato and cybernetics, the PhD student aims to look for possibilities of thinking about one’s own being in the age of cybernetics.

Ernest Suyver (’s-Hertogenbosch, 1971) studied history at Leiden University and conducted his PhD research at the Faculty of Theology and Religious Studies of the University of Groningen. /GG
