Prospective CSC candidates

If you are interested in applying to the PhD programme of the faculty of Behavioural and Social Sciences (BSS) on a CSC full PhD scholarship, please make sure to follow the steps below and meet all the requirements:

Eligibility requirements
Please ensure that you meet the eligibility requirements, which depend on your degree and English language proficiency. Proposals from candidates who do not meet the requirements will not be processed.

Find a supervisor
Find a PhD supervisor(s) who is willing to supervise you and help you carry out your PhD research project. To find a PhD supervisor(s) and research group that matches your research interest, go to the BSS research website.

Research project proposal
Make a research project proposal in collaboration with your potential supervisor. You must use our template for the research proposal.

Important deadline
The deadline for submitting your English language test results, research project proposal, and a copy of your master’s degree is 1 February 2026, 00:00 (midnight CET). Applications received after this date will not be processed, as the admissions committee will be unable to assess them. Please note that this deadline is earlier than the CSC’s own deadline.

Letter of Acceptance
Only candidates who meet the requirements and whose proposals are approved by the BSS admissions board will receive a letter of acceptance.
